Highly recommend this company! Tuesday afternoon, I came home on my lunch break and stepped into ankle deep water thanks to our water heater busting. We have a one story house on a slab and every single room in the house was flooded. Within a couple hours we had someone from ServiceMaster come out to our house to take a look and he was very nice. He left with the promise that he was going to get his guys out that night to start the cleanup process and he made good on that promise. Within 20-30 minutes of leaving our house, he called to let us know when his guys would be coming. They moved all of our stuff and hooked up so much equipment to help dry our house. I am grateful to these employees for how long they stayed at our house in order to get everything done. Thanks to the quick response on their part, our baseboards and drywall were saved. Thank you for making this terrible situation not so terrible!

How to Clean Up Water Damage on the Ceiling?

Stains on your ceiling that are caused by water damage can be an unsightly thing to have to look at. There are some things that you can do to effectively clean up water damage on your ceiling. They include:

  • Identify the Cause of the Water Stains and Correct It – It is necessary for you to identify the cause of the staining on your ceiling so that you can fix it. This is an issue that is often caused by a roof leak but it could also be caused by issues with your upstairs bathroom or a leaking radiator. Whatever the cause, it needs to be resolved to effectively deal with the situation.
  • Use Bleach to Clean the Ceiling Stain – Combining three cups of warm water with one cup of bleach will create an effective cleaning solution for removing stains on your ceiling. This solution should cause the stain to fade and it should also help to remove issues such as mildew, dust, and dirt that has built up.
  • Utilize a Base Coat of Primer Designed to Block Stains – Your next step is to use a base coat of stain-blocking primer.
  • Paint Over the Primer With Ceiling Paint – Once the primer has dried, you can cover the area with a fresh coat of ceiling paint.
