What is Mold?
Mold is a microscopic fungus that can be found almost everywhere. They can be a variety of colors, but mostly black, white, orange, green, or purple. Mold is most common outdoors, where it breaks down old debris like dead leaves, plants, and trees. They do this by growing on moist surfaces and spreading through the air. No matter what, every day you will be exposed to mold. That usually isn’t a problem, but when they make their home inside your home, their spores can release themselves to other surfaces and grow quickly. If you inhale a lot of mold, you can have serious issues with your lungs and breathing. Some people are allergic to mold spores, in which case the need for mold remediation is of huge importance.
How does mold spread?
No matter what you do, mold will make its way into your house. Pets, clothes, hair, dirt, and items which have been outside can bring mold into your home. However, the mold spore will quickly die out unless it finds a suitably damp spot to hook into and make itself home. The most important thing to do is minimize it’s ability to spread by removing access its access to moisture.
