My insurance agent gave me a list of numbers and Service Master respond to my call within a couple of hours and had someone at my house started on my flooded basement by midmorning. Everyone I spoke with throughout the process was professional and knew what they were doing.

Highly recommend this company! Tuesday afternoon, I came home on my lunch break and stepped into ankle deep water thanks to our water heater busting. We have a one story house on a slab and every single room in the house was flooded. Within a couple hours we had someone from ServiceMaster come out to our house to take a look and he was very nice. He left with the promise that he was going to get his guys out that night to start the cleanup process and he made good on that promise. Within 20-30 minutes of leaving our house, he called to let us know when his guys would be coming. They moved all of our stuff and hooked up so much equipment to help dry our house. I am grateful to these employees for how long they stayed at our house in order to get everything done. Thanks to the quick response on their part, our baseboards and drywall were saved. Thank you for making this terrible situation not so terrible!

What is Water Damage Restoration?

In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have to worry about our possessions or our homes. But, disasters happen all the time. When it does, you might be able to get an insurance pay-out, but what if you don’t want to replace the things that have been damaged?

Well, if your property or belongings have been damaged by water, there’s a variety of companies that deal with that exact problem! Water damage restoration removes water that is still in the item and then returns it to its pre-incident state.

When you need a water clean up, it’s important to find a local service provider that can act quickly to remove the water before it gets worse. When water remains stagnant and untreated, it becomes a perfect breeding ground for mold and mildew. Acting quickly is the most important part of keeping water remediation costs low and not increasing the size of the problem.

What Should I Do If My Property Is Flooding?

Don’t panic! Property flooding is a horrible thing to have to deal with, but the most important thing to do is to act calmly so you don’t hurt yourself or your loved ones. Acting quickly can not only save your property, but also your life. it’s important to remember the following steps:

Water, especially running and large bodies of water, are dangerous. If you are unable to follow a step or would put yourself at risk to do so then you should focus on your safety first.

If it’s a flood, wait for it to stop. If it’s a burst pipe, shut off the water which the pipe is flowing through. We can’t start removing the water until the water stops coming in, so it’s important to minimise damage, if you are physically able to.

Water and electricity are not a good mix! Make sure you turn off the electricity, as live wires touching the water can cause shocks that end lives, especially if you get stuck in the water as electricity passes through you.

After these steps have been followed- don’t worry about your house. It has already been flooded, and now the most important thing is to look after yourself and family. In the case of a natural disaster, seek your local temporary shelter. These are usually schools, gyms and churches. If the problem is a burst pipe inside your house, you might be able to seek shelter with a neighbour or in your backyard.

┬áIt’s important to let the person who manages your property know that there has been damage to your house. If you are calling your insurer, make sure to ask if you need to wait for an adjuster to show up to begin the clean-up and repair process. In the meanwhile, don’t be afraid to make a personal account of your losses to report it to the adjuster.

How Can a Water Clean-up Service Remove The Water?

Appliance Ruptures & Leaks

One of the worst, but most common, types of damage is from an appliance rupturing. Air conditioners, water heaters, and washing machines are some of the prime candidates for causing serious damage in your home. Although it's tempting to fix the issue yourself, having on of our repair specialists look into the appliance to check for blockages and do a thorough repair will ensure that the issue won't happen again.

Roof Leaks & Failures

A leaky roof can often be an easy fix, but what if your roof has caved in or has had another significant structural failure? If it happens during a storm, you'll have significant amounts of water come into your property. If not resolved quickly, what started as a slight leak can spiral out of control. We'll arrive at the property as soon as possible to temporarily waterproof your home, fix the roof, and remove water damage from your attic and upper floors.

Flooded Basement & Rising Water

The room most prone to flooding in your house is your basement. Because it's underground, even the slightest damage to the brick can allow for moisture to enter the basement and cause water to rise up the walls of the basement into the 1st floor. We will unflood the basement and remove water from the walls before redecorating to remove any signs of damp.

Fire Fighting Damage

A house fire is one of the worst things that can happen to your house. Not only will a significant fire burn your possessions, but firefighters putting out the fire will also cause water damage trying to save them! Some companies will only do fire damage or water damage, but we have the specialised tools to repair both types of structural and item damage.

Drying & Dehumidification

After a house exceeds it's natural moisture capacity, either due to a lack of ventilation or an excess of water, a slew of problems can arise. The main issue is the growth of toxic mold and mildew that can damage your lungs and cause respiratory problems. To undo the damage of mold and water, our specialists will assess the main problem areas in your house and work with you to dry your house completely.

Burst & Leaking Pipes

Pipes can burst for a lot of reasons, including freezing over in the cold Lexington months. When you've got a burst pipe- act quickly and turn off your water main! Once that's done, call us and we can install a new pipe as well as resolve any damages to your property and belongings.

Contaminated Water & Sewage Backups

One of the worst clean-up operations is handling contaminated water and sewage. Whatever you do, don't handle this yourself! Contaminated water can easily make you, your family members or pets sick. We are trained professionals in handling water remediation of all kinds, with special vacuum pumps that are strong enough to pump even the worst sewage.

Content & Document Drying

We don't just handle your property, all of the contents, important documents and valuables can be cleaned and restored by us. It doesn't matter how careful you are, some objects are just too valuable to be replaced. Trust your damaged possessions to us, and we will carefully dry and repair everything that has been water damaged!

Carpet & Upholstered Furniture

Carpet is like a giant sponge rolled out on your floor. Usually, it's easy to sop up a little bit of moisture. But, once it's flooded, it becomes too difficult to remove the water without specialised tools. Our trained team use a special vacuum that removes water from the carpet whilst also removing trapped liquid below it, meaning we can dry carpets much faster than our competitors. We also handle all sorts of upholstered furniture, drying out even the most plush cushions to be good as new!
