My insurance agent gave me a list of numbers and Service Master respond to my call within a couple of hours and had someone at my house started on my flooded basement by midmorning. Everyone I spoke with throughout the process was professional and knew what they were doing.

Highly recommend this company! Tuesday afternoon, I came home on my lunch break and stepped into ankle deep water thanks to our water heater busting. We have a one story house on a slab and every single room in the house was flooded. Within a couple hours we had someone from ServiceMaster come out to our house to take a look and he was very nice. He left with the promise that he was going to get his guys out that night to start the cleanup process and he made good on that promise. Within 20-30 minutes of leaving our house, he called to let us know when his guys would be coming. They moved all of our stuff and hooked up so much equipment to help dry our house. I am grateful to these employees for how long they stayed at our house in order to get everything done. Thanks to the quick response on their part, our baseboards and drywall were saved. Thank you for making this terrible situation not so terrible!

How Do You Clean Storm Damage?

There are some key steps that you can take to clean storm damage. Safety should always be your top priority and this means ensuring that your property is safe to enter before doing so. If flooding occurred, it is important to get the water out of your property so that the drying process can begin.

You can also take steps such as dumpster rental to clean up fallen debris such as shingles, and tree branches that came down during the storm. In most cases, the best thing that you can do is to bring in the services of our highly trained and experienced Lexington storm damage restoration experts here at ServiceMaster Fire & Water Damage Restoration. What Do You Do After Storm Damage?

When storm damage strikes, it is important to know what to do next. Before you do anything, it is important to remember that caution is essential. You should never take any cleanup or repair actions that will jeopardize the safety of you or your family. After storm damage occurs, it is important to make sure that your property is safe to re-enter. Beyond this, some of the things that you need to do after storm damage occurs include:

  • Make a visual assessment of the storm damage
  • Take photos of all storm damage that has occurred so that you can provide them to your insurance company
  • Contact your insurance provider as soon as possible
  • If flooding has occurred in your property, it is important to disconnect the electricity and open up all doors and windows to encourage good ventilation
  • Contact our Lexington storm damage restoration professionals here at ServiceMaster Fire & Water Damage Restoration

Quickly bringing in professional help is one of the most important steps that you can take when addressing storm damage to your property. Doing storm damage repair and restoration work is best left to professional contractors with the specialized expertise required to carry out the work safely and effectively.

Do Insurance Companies Pay Out for Storm Damage?

One of the most common questions that homeowners have is whether or not insurance companies will pay out for storm damage. The good news is that homeowners insurance does often cover certain types of storm damage.

It is common for insurance companies to pay out for storm damage that was the result of hail, lightning, and wind. This coverage often includes damage caused by fallen trees, power surges, and ice.

It is important to note that it is less common for homeowners insurance to cover the costs of damage that has resulted from earthquakes or flooding. The best thing to do as a homeowner is to carefully read through your insurance policy and to inquire with your insurance agent as to what things are covered.
